The Special glasses are used for viewing the three-dimensional images or experiencing virtual reality.
The Modern glasses are typically supported by pads on the bridge of the nose and by temples placed over the ears. The Historical types consist of the pince nez, monocle, and lorgnette. The Glasses are more often called eyeglasses in North American English, rarely spectacles in British English, and (rarely) frames or lenses. The Spectacles are often shortened to specs. In hipster jargon they are cheaters.
The Glasses were initially made from glass, but many are now made from plastic (often polycarbonate) because of the danger of breakage and the greater weight of glass lenses. Some plastics also have more beneficial optical properties than glass, like better transmission of visible light and better absorption of ultraviolet light. Some plastics have a greater index of refraction than the majority types of glass, allowing thinner lenses for a given prescription. Scratch-resistant coatings can be applied to most plastic lenses charitable them similar scratch resistance to glass. Hydrophobic coatings intended to ease cleaning are also obtainable, as are anti-reflective coatings designed to improve night vision and make the wearer's eyes more visible.
The Corrective spectacles have lenses created to correct vision abnormalities, like myopia. The Safety glasses are a type of eye protection against flying debris or noticeable and near visible light or radiation. The Sunglasses care for against high levels of visible and ultraviolet light.

The History of Battery Electric Vehicles

Battery exciting Vehicles or BEVs, predated the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles. It is now comparatively common in Europe, especially Northern Europe; less so in North America.Traffic calming has conventionally been justified on the grounds of pedestrian safety and reduction of noise and local air pollution which are side effects of the traffic. However, it has become more and more apparent that streets have many social and recreational functions which are severely impaired by fast car traffic. For much of the twentieth century, streets were designed by engineers who were charged only with ensuring traffic flow and not with development other functions of streets. The rationale for traffic reassuring is now broadening to include designing for these functions.

Lighthouse of Alexandria

The Pharos of Alexandria was a big tower built in the 3rd century BC (between 285 and 247 BC) on the island of Pharos in Alexandria, Egypt to give out as that port's landmark, and later, its lighthouse.

With a height variously estimated at between 115 and 150 meters (383 - 450 ft) it was among the tallest man-made structures on Earth for many centuries, and was recognized as one of the Seven Wonders of the World by Antipater of Sidon. Although in earlier times jewellery was created for more convenient uses, such as wealth storage and pinning clothes together, in recent times it has been used almost completely for beautification. The first pieces of jewellery were made from likely materials, such as bone and animal teeth, shell, wood and engraved stone. Jewellery was often made for people of high importance to show their status and, in many cases, they were covered with it.Jewellery is made out of almost every material recognized and has been made to garnish nearly every body part, from hairpins to toe rings and many more types of jewellery. While high-quality and artistic pieces are made with gemstones and valuable metals, less pricey costume jewellery is made from less-valuable materials and is mass-produced.Form and function Kenyan man exhausting tribal beads.Over time, jewellery has been used for a number of reasons: Currency, wealth display and storage, purposeful Symbolism Protection and Artistic display Most cultures have at some point had a practice of observance large amounts of wealth stored in the form of jewellery. Numerous cultures move wedding dowries in the form of jewelry, or create jewelry as a means to store or display coins. on the other hand, jewellery has been used as a currency or trade good; a mostly poignant example being the use of slave beads.
In creating jewellery, a variety of gemstones, coins, or other valuable items can be used, often set into precious metals. Common expensive metals used for modern jewellery include gold, platinum or silver, although alloys of nearly every metal known can be encountered in jewellery -- bronze, for example, was common in Roman times. Most gold jewellery is made of an alloy of gold, the purity of which is affirmed in karats, indicated by a number followed by the letter K. For example, ordinary gold jewellery ranges from 10K (41.7% pure gold) to 22K (91.6% pure gold), while 24K (99.9% pure gold) is considered too soft for jewellery use. Platinum alloys variety from 900 (90% pure) to 950 (95.0% pure). The silver used in jewellery is usually sterling silver, or 92.5% fine silver.Other generally used materials include glass, such as merged glass or enamel; wood, often carved or turned; shells and other natural animal substances such as bone and ivory; natural clay, polymer clay, and even plastics.
Jewellery and society
One universal issue is control over who could wear what jewellery, a point which indicate the powerful symbolism the wearing of jewellery evoked. In ancient Rome, for instance, only convinced ranks could wear rings; later, sumptuary laws dictated who could wear what type of jewellery; again based on rank. Cultural dictate have also played a important role; for example, the wearing of earrings by Western men was considered "effeminate" in the 19th and early 20th centuries. on the other hand, the jewellery industry in the early 20th century launched a crusade to popularize wedding rings for men — which caught on — as well as appointment rings for men , going so far as to make a false history and claim that the practice had Medieval roots. By the mid 1940s, 85% of weddings in the U.S. feature a double-ring ceremony, up from 15% in the 1920s.Religion has also played a role: Islam, for instance, consider the wearing of gold by men as a social taboo, and many religions have edicts against extreme display.

Gold

Gold is a extremely sought-after valuable metal that for many centuries has been used as money, a store of value and in ornaments. The metal occurs as nugget or grains in rocks and in alluvial deposits and is one of the coinage metals. It is a soft, glossy, yellow, dense, malleable, and ductile (trivalent and univalent) change metal. Modern manufacturing uses include dentistry and electronics. Gold forms the basis for a financial typical used by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Bank for International resolution (BIS). Its ISO currency code is XAU.
Gold is a tinny element with a trait yellow color, but can also be black or ruby when finely alienated, while colloidal solutions are intensely tinted and often purple. These colors are the effect of gold's plasmon frequency lying in the visible range, which causes red and yellow glow to be reflected, and blue light to be engrossed. Only silver colloids show the same interactions with light, albeit at a shorter occurrence, making silver colloids yellow in color.
Gold is a good conductor of temperature and electricity, and is not precious by air and most reagents. Heat, damp, oxygen, and most corrosive agents have very little chemical effect on gold, making it well-suited for use in coins and jewelry; equally, halogens will chemically alter gold, and aqua regia dissolve it.
Pure gold is too soft for ordinary use and is hard-boiled by alloying with silver, copper, and other metals. Gold and its lots of alloys are most often used in jewelry, coinage and as a typical for monetary exchange in various countries. When promotion it in the form of jewelry, gold is calculated in karats (k), with pure gold being 24k. However, it is more commonly sold in lower capacity of 22k, 18k, and 14k. A lower "k" indicates a higher percent of copper or silver assorted into the alloy, with copper being the more typically used metal between the two. Fourteen karat gold-copper alloy will be almost identical in color to definite bronze alloys, and both may be used to produce polish and added badges. Eighteen karat gold with a high copper content is establish in some traditional jewelry and will have a distinct, though not dominant copper cast, giving an attractively warm color. A comparable karat weight when alloyed with silvery metals will appear less humid in color, and some low karat white metal alloys may be sold as "white gold", silvery in exterior with a slightly yellow cast but far more resistant to decay than silver or sterling silver. Karat weights of twenty and higher is more general in modern jewelry. Because of its high electrical conductivity and confrontation to decay and other desirable combinations of physical and chemical properties, gold also emerged in the late 20th century as an vital industrial metal, particularly as thin plating on electrical card associates and connectors.

Infrared

Infrared (IR) emission is electromagnetic emission of a wavelength longer than that of noticeable light, but shorter than that of radio waves. The name means "below red" (from the Latin infra, "below"), red being the color of detectable light of longest wavelength. Infrared radiation spans three instructions of magnitude and has wavelengths between about 750 nm and 1 mm.
These divisions are suitable by the different human response to this radiation: near infrared is the area closest in wavelength to the radiation detectable by the human eye, mid and far infrared are gradually further from the visible regime. Other definitions follow different physical mechanisms (emission peaks, vs. bands, water absorption) and the newest follow technical reasons (The common silicon detectors are sensitive to about 1,050 nm, while Inga As sensitivity starts around 950 nm and ends between 1,700 and 2,600 nm, depending on the specific configuration). Unfortunately the international standards for these specifications are not currently obtainable.
The boundary between visible and infrared light is not precisely defined. The human eye is markedly less responsive to light above 700 nm wavelength, so longer frequencies make irrelevant contributions to scenes illuminated by common light sources. But particularly strong light (e.g., from lasers, or from bright daylight with the visible light removed by colored gels [1]) can be detected up to approximately 780 nm, and will be apparent as red light. The onset of infrared is defined (according to different standards) at different values typically between 700 nm and 780 nm.

GMAT Overview

The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is an identical assessment—delivered in English—that helps business schools assess the qualifications of applicants for higher study in business and management. Schools use the test as one forecaster of academic performance in an MBA program or even in other graduate management programs.
About GMAT Measures
The GMAT exam is basically to measure verbal, mathematical, and analytical writing skills which one have developed over a long period of time in their education and work. IT DOES NOT MEASURE:
• Your knowledge about the business,• Your skills regarding job profile,• Precise content in your undergraduate or first university course work,• Your abilities in any other precise subject area, or• Subjective qualities—such as motivation, creativity, and interpersonal skills.
The GMAT exam is consist of three main section,
• Analytical Writing Assessment• Quantitative Section and • Verbal Section
Analytical Writing Assessment
The GMAT exam starts with the Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA). The AWA comprises of two separate writing tasks—basically to do analysis on a particular Issue and analysis on any Argument. Time limit will be given 30 minute to each one.
Quantitative Section
You will have an optional ten-minute break, and then begin the Quantitative Section of GMAT exam. You will have 37 multiple-choice questions of two types, 1-Data Sufficiency and 2-Problem Solving. You will be given 75 minutes to complete the same.
Verbal Section
Again a 10-minute break will take place, and you would begin with Verbal Section of GMAT exam. 41 Multiple choice questions will be given, which would be of three types, 1-Reading Comprehension, 2-Critical Reasoning, and 3-Sentence Correction. Time limit will be 75 minute to complete the same.

MBA – overview!

Every student entering business school to get their MBA degree will require various skills and have basic expertise in particular areas. The level of the mathematical skills will vary depending upon the choice of your program. Many MBA programs need algebra, statistics, and most likely calculus. You may want to revive your skills if they are in query before entering an MBA program, because joining an MBA program without basic skills will be a bit tougher to get through. Most business schools needs the use of private computers throughout your MBA program, in some cases many school will require that you possess your own laptop. Though the degree to which you use a computer will differ, you should be contented with the complete knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets and databases. Every school will provide you their minimum basic necessities for computer skills.
Business schools today try to impersonate the business setting in their academic programs by using student teams. As businesses more and more twisted to teams to work on projects and to solve troubles, MBA programs have converted a huge portion of course work from individual work to teamwork. Many masters of business administration programs now contain teambuilding training as team building workshops, or as a theme in managerial performance courses. Teams are formed mainly for the reason of one project in one course or by remaining together, working on multiple courses for months. In this competitive situation of Business administration programs, the collaboration of students in team building movements is often complicated. Students that take part in team activities find that working with someone else takes up a lot of educational time.
The business fundamentals are taught in every MBA program. Economics, finance, accounting, organizational behavior, marketing, and statistics are in the basic range for master of business administration programs. In business school these subjects are considered a foundation group of courses required for each and every candidate.
These core courses make up the first year of study in a two-year full-time program. In some programs, students who have a prior background in business can by pass some or all of the core courses on the basis of either a special examination or an evaluation of the undergraduate transcript. In some programs, students who have a previous backdrop in business can go around some or all of the foundation courses on the basis of either a special examination or an assessment of the undergraduate record.

KURINJI "THE BLUE MOUNTAIN"

Once in a 12 years, Kurinji flowers once again in progress to blooming on the Kodaikanal & Nilgiris hills, mostly close to Kurinji Andavar temple. The Nilgiris, which accurately means the Blue Mountains, got its name from the purplish blue flowers of Neelakurinji those blossoms once in 12 years. Neelakurinji is the group has around 300 species that has flowering cycles ranging from one to 16 years. It belongs to the family of Acanthaceae. It occurs on an altitude of 1800 to 2400 meters. The Kurinji flowers is usually 30 to 60 cms high. They can raise beyond 180 cm in good-natured conditions. Flower that bloom at long intervals like kurinji are called plietesials. New York World newspaper in 1929 refers to a large custom-built tabulators IBM made for Columbia University first used the term “Super Computing”. Super Computers introduced in the year 1960s and were designed by Seymour Cray at Control Data Corporation (CDC), and led the market into the 1970s.
The term supercomputer itself is rather fluid, and today's supercomputer tends to become tomorrow's also-ran. Technologies developed for Supercomputers include: Vector processing Liquid cooling Non-Uniform Memory Access (NUMA) Striped disks Parallel file systems Supercomputers traditionally gained their speed over conventional computers through the use of innovative designs that allow them to perform many tasks in parallel, as well as complex detail engineering.

They tend to be specialized for certain types of computation, usually numerical calculations, and perform poorly at more general computing tasks. Their memory hierarchy is very carefully designed to ensure the processor; much of the performance difference between slower computers and supercomputers is due to the memory hierarchy. Their I/O systems tend to be designed to support high bandwidth, with latency less of an issue, because supercomputers are not used for transaction processing.

Supercomputers are used for highly calculation-intensive tasks such as weather forecasting, climate research (including research into global warming), molecular modeling (computing the structures and properties of chemical compounds, biological macromolecules, polymers, and crystals), physical simulations (such as simulation of airplanes in wind tunnels, simulation of the detonation of nuclear weapons, and research into nuclear fusion), cryptanalysis, and the like. Major universities, military agencies and scientific research laboratories are heavy users.

Early Stages of a pregnant woman and her health

Pregnancy is not an easy job for a woman. Starting from conception to birth, a woman's body carries out the most miraculous process of fertilization, implantation and the maturity and growth of her baby (or babies). Her body is her baby's dwelling place for the next nine months (or around 40 weeks) and the occurrences of pregnancy turn into a journey of many new physical feelings. Whether it is first, second, third (or more) pregnancy, her body will respond in a different way to each individual pregnancy. So health of a pregnant woman is very important to be taken care of.

Throughout the first 12 weeks of pregnancy called the '1st trimester’, a woman's body adjust to present a fostering and protective environment for her baby to grow and develop. Seldom, the early signs of pregnancy can make a woman feel puzzled. This may be for the reason that many of the physical signs of in the early hours of pregnancy such as enlarged tender breasts, sensitivity of tiredness, overstuffed and perhaps experiencing spasms and/or pelvic uneasiness can be considered as normal pre-menstrual signs. In all these stages the health of the woman declines because she is not only feeding herself, also her little developing fetus.

They may also sense disgusted or sick, due to morning sickness. It is not unusual to feel unsure about what is 'normal' during the early stages of pregnancy development, and unfamiliar signs or sensations may trigger concerns about the health, of her and baby. It’s been proved by the Gynecologists that every woman's body will react in a different way to being pregnant. Many women find their early pregnancy symptoms very difficult to cope with, both at work and generally.

Due to continuous vomiting and nourishing the fetus the pregnant woman may be exhausted very easily. She has to constantly keep her energetic by maintaining a healthy diet schedule as prescribed by the physicians. She can have more fresh green vegetables and fruit juices to make her feel fresh and energetic. It’s always significant to make sure that she avoids drinking and smoking because whatever she has will be directly absorbed by the baby. Once the fetus starts developing she has to get primed for all the obstacles she has to experience throughout pregnancy. Many psychologists predict that a healthy pregnancy is not only from taking care of the nutrition for the pregnant women, more than that she has to be taken care from all the hassles in her family. Emergency management is the continuous process by which all individuals, groups, and communities manage hazards in an effort to avoid or ameliorate the impact of disasters resulting from the hazards. Actions taken depend in part on perceptions of risk of those exposed.[2] Effective emergency management relies on thorough integration of emergency plans at all levels of government and non-government involvement. Activities at each level (individual, group, community) affect the other levels. It is common to place the responsibility for governmental emergency management with the institutions for civil defense or within the conventional structure of the emergency services. In the private sector, emergency management is commonly referred to as business continuity management.
In the United States, the Constitution assigns the responsibility of public health and safety with state governments.[1] When an emergency or disaster occurs in a community, the resources of the local governments will be used first to manage the incident. With small-scale incidents, the response of local police, fire, and emergency medical services is usually sufficient. Once the resources of the local government are overwhelmed, the mayor of the city, town, or village will call upon the resources of the state for additional help. Likewise, the Federal government is called upon to act when the resources of local and state governments have been overwhelmed.[1] Governors of the affected states will request a disaster declaration from the President of the United States.

Interior Decoration Course

Many four year, baccalaureate degrees in Interior Design exist in the United States, within major universities such as Arizona State University, UCLA, Northern Illinois University, University of Cinncinati, and Columbia University. The possible implications of this were dramatized in the novel by Michael Crichton and high budget Hollywood thriller, "Jurassic Park". In real life, one of the most anticipated targets for cloning was once the Woolly mammoth, but attempts to extract DNA from frozen mammoths have been unsuccessful, though a Japanese team is currently working toward this goal.In 2000, a cow named Bessie gave birth to a cloned Asian gaur, an endangered species, but the calf died after 2 days; the attempt to clone a banteng was more successful and provided hope that similar techniques (using surrogate mothers of another species) might be used to clone extinct species; in anticipation of this possibility, the last bucardo, a Pyrenean Ibex, was frozen immediately after it died (from illness after birth). Researchers are also considering cloning endangered species such as the giant panda, ocelot, and cheetah[7]. See the discussion under "Dolly" for a discussion of the promises and limitations of this approach. In 2002, geneticists at the Australian Museum announced that they had replicated DNA of the Thylacine (Tasmanian Tiger), extinct about 65 years previous, using polymerase chain reaction (PCR)[8]. However, on February 15, 2005 the museum announced that it was stopping the project after tests showed the specimens' DNA had been too badly degraded by the (ethanol) preservative. Most recently, on May 15, 2005, it was announced that the project would be revived, with new participation from researchers in New South Wales and Victoria. One of the continuing obstacles in the attempt to clone extinct species is the need for nearly perfect DNA. Cloning from a single specimen could not create a viable breeding population in sexually reproducing animals. Furthermore, even if males and females could be cloned, the question would remain open if they would be viable at all in the absence of parents that teach or show them natural behavior. Essentially, even if cloning an extinct species would succeed - it must be considered that cloning still is an experimental technology that succeeds only by chance -, it is far more likely than not that any resulting animals, even if they were healthy, would be little more than curios or museum pieces. Most conservation biologists are rather vehemently opposed to cloning and consider it a smokescreen fit for generating headlines, but detrimental to conservation success, as funds needed to preserve habitat and wild populations threaten to be diverted to such cloning projects and eventually might even cause the extinction of species in a wild state; the rule-of-thumb in animal conservation is that conservation attempts in captivity are not to be undertaken on a standalone basis if it is still feasible to conserve habitat and viable wild populations. The banteng cloning project was an exception, as the animal cloned was a distinct genetic lineage and the value of preserving this piece of genetic diversity of an already inbred species outweighed the uncertainties.

Health aspects

Health aspects

However, the success rate has been very low: Dolly was born after 276 failed attempts; 70 calves have been created from 9,000 attempts and one third of them died young; Prometea took 328 attempts, and, more recently, Paris Texas was created after 400 attempts. Notably, although the first clones were frogs, no adult cloned frog has yet been produced from a somatic adult nucleus donor cell.
A surprising development to do with aging resulted from finds that Dolly was apparently subject to accelerated aging. Aging of this type is thought to be due to telomeres, regions at the tips of chromosomes which prevent genetic threads fraying every time a cell divides. Over time telomeres get worn down until cell-division is no longer possible - this is thought to be a cause of aging. However, when researchers cloned cows they appeared to age more slowly than expected. Analysis of the cow's telomeres showed they had not only been 'reset' to birth-length, but they were actually longer - suggesting these clones would live longer life spans than normal cows (but many have died young after excessive growth). Researchers think that this could eventually be developed to reverse aging in humans, provided that this is based chiefly on shortening of telomeres. Although some work has been performed on telomeres and aging in nuclear transfer clones, the evidence is contradictory and does not support any generalizable link. Dolly died in the year of 2003.
Therapeutic cloning is the procedure for creating stem cells genetically compatible with the patient. Therapeutic cloning might provide a way to grow organs in host carrier, which become completely compatible with the original. Host carrier growing poses a risk of trans-species diseases if the host is of a different species (e.g. a pig.) In human beings, this is a highly controversial issue, as it involves creating human embryos in vitro and then destroying them to obtain multipotent embryonic stem cells.
Human cloning

Human cloning Human cloning is the creation of a genetically identical copy of an existing, or previously existing human or growing cloned tissue from that individual. The term is generally used to refer to artificial human cloning; human clones in the form of identical twins are commonplace, with their cloning occurring during the natural process of reproduction

Microtrack

Gigasonic has a range of digital musical solutions which suit everyone’s needs. One of the finest filtration under Reverse Osmosis is Hyper Filtration, where the removals of particles are as small as ions. In this Process, water gets purified and the various salts and other impurities are removed to improve the Properties of fluid, its taste as well as color.

Reverse osmosis occurs when the water is moved across the membrane against the concentration gradient, from lower concentration to higher concentration. It thus purifies water by ejecting out fluids, inorganic chemicals such as nitrates, calcium, and magnesium, other ions and contaminants.

It uses a semi-permeable membrane, allowing the fluid that is being purified to pass through it. Most of the reverse osmosis technology procedures undergoes a cross flow Process to allow the membrane to clean itself periodically. Recording, even of styles which are essentially live often uses the ability to edit and splice to produce recordings which are considered "better" than the actual performance.
In many cultures there is less distinction between performing and listening to music, as virtually everyone is involved in some sort of musical activity, often communal. In industrialized countries, listening to music through a recorded form, such as sound recording or watching a music video, became more common than experiencing live performance, roughly in the middle of the 20th century. Someone who performs, composes, or conducts music is a musician. Performance is a method for musicians to share music with others.
Solo and ensembleMany cultures include strong traditions of solo or soloistic performance, such as in Indian classical music, while other cultures, such as in Bali, include strong traditions of group performance. All cultures include a mixture of both, and performance may range from improvised solo playing for one's enjoyment to highly planned and organized performance rituals such as the modern classical concert or religious processions. What is called chamber music is often seen as more intimate than symphonic works. A performer is called a musician, a group being a musical ensemble such as a rock band or symphony orchestra.
Oral tradition and notationMain article: Musical notation. Music is often preserved in memory and performance only, handed down orally, or aurally ("by ear"). Such music, especially that which has no known individual composer, is often classified as "traditional". Different musical traditions have different attitudes towards how and where to make changes to the original source material, from quite strict, to those which demand improvisation. If the music is written down, it is generally in some manner which attempts to capture both what should be heard by listeners, and what the musician should do to perform the music. This is referred to as musical notation, and the study of how to read notation involves music theory. Written notation varies with style and period of music, and includes scores, lead sheets, guitar tablature, among the more common notations. Generally music which is to be performed is produced as sheet music. To perform music from notation requires an understanding of both the musical style and performance practice expected or acceptable.
Improvisation, interpretation, compositionMain articles: Musical composition, Improvisation/Music, and Free improvisation. Most cultures use at least part of the concept of preconceiving musical material, or composition, as held in western classical music. Many, but fewer, cultures also include the related concept of interpretation, performing material conceived by others, to the contrasting concepts of improvisation and free improvisation, which is material that is spontaneously "thought of" (imagined) while being performed, not preconceived. However, many cultures and people do not have this distinction at all, using a broader concept which incorporates both without discrimination. Improvised music virtually always follows some rules or conventions and even "fully composed" includes some freely chosen material. See also, precompositional. Composition does not always mean the use of notation, or the known sole authorship of one individual.
Music can also be determined by describing a "process" which may create musical sounds, examples of this range from wind chimes, through computer programs which select sounds. Music which contains elements selected by chance is called Aleatoric music, and is most famously associated with John Cage and Witold Lutosławski. See: precompositional, form (music), modulation, twelve tone technique, serialism, and process music.
CompositionsMusical composition is a term that describes the makeup of a piece of music. Methods of composition vary widely, however in analyzing music all forms -- spontaneous, trained, or untrained -- are built from elements comprising a musical piece. Music can be composed for repeated performance or it can be improvised; composed on the spot. The music can be performed entirely from memory, from a written system of musical notation, or some combination of both. Study of composition has traditionally been dominated by examination of methods and practice of Western classical music, but the definition of composition is broad enough to include spontaneously improvised works like those of free jazz performers and African drummers. What is important in understanding the composition of a piece is singling out its elements. An understanding of music's formal elements can be helpful in deciphering exactly how a piece is made. A universal element of music is time or more generally rhythm. When a piece appears to have no time, it is considered rubato. The Italian term, meaning "free time," does not mean "without rhythm," but rather that the tempo or time of the piece changes dynamically. Even random placement of random sounds, often occurring in musical montage, occurs within some kind of time, and thus employs time as a musical element. Any musical event comprised of elements can be considered a "composition."
Reception and auditionMain article: Hearing (sense). The field of music cognition involves the study of many aspects of music including how it is processed by listeners.
Music is experienced by individuals in a huge variety of social settings ranging from being alone to attending a large concert. Concerts take many different forms and may include people dressing in formal wear and sitting quietly in the rows of auditoriums, drinking and dancing in a bar, or loudly cheering and booing in an auditorium.
Deaf people can experience music by feeling the vibrations in their body; the most famous example of a deaf musician is the composer Ludwig van Beethoven, who composed many famous works even after he had completely lost his hearing. In more modern times, Evelyn Glennie, who has been deaf since the age of twelve, is a highly acclaimed percussionist. Also, Chris Buck, a violinist virtuoso and New Zealander, has recently lost his hearing. See: Baschet Brothers. See: psychoacoustics.
MediaThe music that composers make can be heard through several media; the most traditional way is to hear it live, in the presence, or as one of, the musicians. Live music can also be broadcast over the radio, television or the internet. Some musical styles focus on producing a sound for a performance, while others focus on producing a recording which mixes together sounds which were never played "live". Recording, even of styles which are essentially live often uses the ability to edit and splice to produce recordings which are considered "better" than the actual performance.
In many cultures there is less distinction between performing and listening to music, as virtually everyone is involved in some sort of musical activity, often communal. A more comprehensive list is given by stating the aspects of sound: pitch, timbre, loudness, and duration. 4 These aspects combine to create secondary aspects including structure, texture and style. Other commonly included aspects include the spatial location or the movement in space of sounds, gesture, and dance. Silence is also often considered an aspect of music, if it is considered to exist.
As mentioned above, not only do the aspects included as music vary, their importance varies. For instance, melody and harmony are often considered to be given more importance in classical music at the expense of rhythm and timbre. John Cage considers duration the primary aspect of music because it is the only aspect common to both "sound" and "silence."
It is often debated whether there are aspects of music that are universal. The debate often hinges on definitions, for instance the fairly common assertion that "tonality" is a universal of all music may necessarily require an expansive definition of tonality. A pulse is sometimes taken as a universal, yet there exist solo vocal and instrumental genres with free, improvisational rhythms with no regular pulse;5 one example is the alap section of a Hindustani music performance. According to Dane Harwood, "We must ask whether a cross-cultural musical universal is to be found in the music itself (either its structure or function) or the way in which music is made. By 'music-making,' I intend not only actual performance but also how music is heard, understood, even learned." 6
Common termsCommon terms used to discuss particular pieces include note, which is an abstraction that refers to either a specific pitch and/or rhythm or the written symbol; melody, which is a succession of notes heard as some sort of unit; chord, which is a simultaneity of notes heard as some sort of unit; chord progression which is a succession of chords (simultaneity succession); harmony, which is the relationship between two or more pitches; counterpoint, which is the simultaneity and organization of different melodies; and rhythm which is the organization of the durational aspects of music.

What is music?

What is music?

Music is often defined by contrast of sounds. Some definitions of music place it explicitly within a cultural context by defining music as what people accept as musical.
Broadly, here are some groups of definitions:
Those that define music as an external, physical fact, for example "organized sound", or as a specific type of perception Those that label it, according to context, as a social construction or subjective experience Those that label it as an artistic process or product, with the related psychological phenomena Those that seek a platonic or quasi-platonic ideal of music which is not rooted in specifically physical or mental terms, but in a higher truth. The definition of music as sound with particular characteristics is taken as a given by psychoacoustics, and is a common one in musicology and performance. In this view, there are observable patterns to what is broadly labeled music, and while there are understandable cultural variations, the properties of music are the properties of sound as perceived and processed by people.
Traditional philosophies define music as tones ordered horizontally (as melodies) and vertically (as harmonies). Music theory, within this realm, is studied with the presupposition that music is orderly and often pleasant to hear.
John Cage is the most famous advocate of the idea that anything can be music, saying, for example, "There is no noise, only sound," though some argue that this somewhat fascistically imposes the definition on everything. According to musicologist Jean-Jacques Nattiez (1990 p.47-8,55): "The border between music and noise is always culturally defined--which implies that, even within a single society, this border does not always pass through the same place; in short, there is rarely a consensus.... By all accounts there is no single and intercultural universal concept defining what music might be."
In support of the view that music is a label for a totality of different aspects which are culturally constructed. Often a definition of music lists the aspects or elements that make up music. Molino (1975: 43) argues that, in addition to a lack of consensus, "any element belonging to the total musical fact can be isolated, or taken as a strategic variable of musical production." Nattiez gives as examples Mauricio Kagel's Con Voce [with voice], where a masked trio silently mimes playing instruments. In this example sound, a common element, is excluded, while gesture, a less common element, is given primacy.
The platonic ideal of music is currently the least fashionable in the philosophy of criticism and music, because it is crowded on one side by the physical view - what is the metasubstance of music made of, if not sound? - and on the other hand by the constructed view of music - how can one tell the difference between any metanarrative of music and one which is merely intersubjective? However, its appeal, finding unexpected mathematical relationships in music, and finding analogies between music and physics, for example string theory, means that this view continues to find adherents, including such critics and performers as Charles Rosen and Edward Rothstein.

Blade

BladeFor other uses of the word blade, see Blade (disambiguation) A blade is the flat part of a bladed tool or weapon that (usually) has a cutting edge and/or pointed end typically made of a metal, such as steel used to cut, stab, slice, throw, thrust, or strike.
Techniques for productionMaterial for weapon blades has to be carefully selected, as a balance between hardness and toughness is required to function properly. In antiquity, the main metal used was copper, then bronze, iron, and finally steel. Prior to the invention of steel, several techniques were developed for reducing the brittleness of iron. Perhaps the most well known is pattern welding, a technique used for katanas (samurai swords) or 'damascus' blades. This was a very labor-intensive technique - and so such swords were very expensive.Various techniques were also employed to make the blade harder. Copper and bronze can be "work-hardened" (or annealed) by simply hitting the blade with a hammer while it is cold. Blades made of steel with a high enough carbon content (greater than 0.2%) could be heat-treated by heating the steel up to a critical point (most alloys become non-magnetic at that point), then quenching it in water. Quenching puts an enormous amount of strain on the metal, and oftentimes a sword would break into pieces during that step. If the sword survived heat-treating, it would be tempered by heating it to a relatively low temperature for an extended period of time. The tempering process would make it slightly softer, but also tougher and "springier", and thus less likely to break or chip during the rigors of combat.Case-hardening is a process of increasing the carbon content at the surface of very low carbon steel. It is done by placing the object to be hardened in a sealed container along with carbon-containing material; in antiquity, this material was usually horn or hide. The container would then be heated until it was glowing red, and held at that temperature for awhile, based on the size of the part being hardened, allowing carbon to penetrate the steel by a few thousandths of a centimeter. At that point, the object would be dumped out of the container into a water bath to quench it, resulting in a very hard surface, but completely unhardened core. There is very little evidence of this having ever been done to swords except, perhaps, the very earliest of iron blades.Another important aspect of many blades are so-called "fullers". Despite popular belief, fullers were not "blood groves" that facilitated quicker bleeding of the victim. Rather fullers helped to make a blade lighter while still retaining much of its strength. They were made by positioning a heated blade over a bottom fuller, setting a like sized top fuller on the top side of the sword, and hitting the top fuller with a hammer.
Variation in blades
DecorationDecoration was often applied to the blade - usually engraving and sometimes inlaying with gold. In the 19th century, it became common to etch designs on the blade using acid and a wax template.
ShapeSwords may have either a straight blade or a curved one. A straight sword was primarily intended for hacking and stabbing, whilst a curved sword was better at slashing. The difference between a hacking cut and a slashing one is essentially the same as the difference between using a butcher's knife and a chef's knife; one forces an edge straight into a material while the other is pulled along the material to get more of a slicing action. For a horseman, stabbing was not practical because it is hard to make a horse move swiftly backward should the thrust fail to strike the victim. The cavalryman would then be at the mercy of his erstwhile victim. This was not so important in massed cavalry charges, in any case in such attacks the cavalry would often be in closely packed formations in which slashing would not be possible. Consequently, European heavy cavalry generally had straight swords.Cavalry that engaged in single combat or in looser formations normally had curved swords. In order to cut, a sword had to be drawn across the victim's skin, and a curved sword was more suitable for this. The blade was only sharpened on the outer edge and the radius of curvature was equal to the distance from the centre about which the blade was rotated - i.e. the distance from the blade to the shoulder. In curved European swords, this was usually a full arm's length, but in the Middle East and Indian swords it as generally a much shorter distance - typically 50 cm or so (see scimitar). This gave Eastern cavalry a great advantage over their European counterparts because they were able to fight at a closer distance than the Europeans were used to and therefore get inside their sword arc.Single-edged swords have a back. This is the unsharpened edge. Early 19th century swords had a "pipe-backed" appearance, whereby they had a thickened ridge along the back to make the blade stronger.

Condition of Water

Most people get their water from the household tap. This water originates from lakes, rivers, streams, and underground sources. The majority of water goes through a system of cleaning at the local water treatment plant. However, because of a lack of funds to provide the necessary technology, many harmful pollutants and water borne diseases are present in the finished treated water.
Distillation
The health of an organism is absolutely linked with the quantity and the quality of water they drink. For maintaining optimum health a person need to drink 8-10 glasses of water per day. The daily ejection of wastes from each and every cell of an organism, the flushing of the alimentary canal, and the purification of blood lays on the water which we intake.
The distillation process in takes off all impurities from water. Outfitted distillers are competent at taking off nitrates (fertilizer residuals), bacteria, cysts, viruses, sodium, dissolved solids, most organic compounds (solvents, herbicides, and pesticides), and heavy metals together with lead and arsenic, and radio nuclides from water. Distillers generally take away about 99.5 percent of the impurities from the normal water.

Membrane Filtration

A well-arranged process conduction which infact work without the addition of chemicals. Membrane technology is a generic term for separation processes. With membrane filters, filtration mainly occurs on the filter surface. Particles, which are larger than the normal pore size, remain on the filter, smaller particles pass through it unless other interactions gets retained in them.

They are used to separate colloids, Suspended particles and molecules from liquids. Thus feed flow is divided into two streams a filtrate stream, and a highly concentrate stream.

Membrane systems with its filtration can be managed in either dead-end flow or cross-flow. One is by making sure that your car is roadworthy and maintained well, but it is very important to take responsibility for your own driving whilst being vigilant of other vehicles on the road.

This is usually known as defensive driving- the practice of protecting yourself from harm by keeping your eye on other vehicles as well as you drives your car very carefully. Mostly accidents are happening because of drivers speeding, not paying attention to road conditions, being careless (not checking for other vehicles etc.) and not wearing seatbelts (or not wearing them correctly).

Safety Tips
Therefore, there are many ways to avoid the accidents and collision when we driving our car.

Always put on a seatbelt, and make sure that all passengers do too. It is always good habit of checking and securing everyone before you have even started the engine. It is also worth spending in special dog car harnesses or we can say alarms. You can buy them in most pet shops and Lambo Cars stores. They will protect your pet and you.
Drive at a reasonable speed, and make sure that don’t go too fast or slow.
Consider the conditions and drive accordingly like- is it wet and slippery, foggy with poor visibility or fine and dry? So depending on the conditions u drive your car.
Be familiar with the rules and regulations of the road and stick to them. and first thing u should understand that rules are not to trouble, that is purely for your safety - Give way to traffic on the right, stay in the correct lane at roundabouts.
Do not compete with other drivers- don't race them, cut them up or in any way obstruct their path.
Keep a gap between vehicles - Stay at least 3 seconds behind another vehicle.
Be vigilant of other vehicles- if you notice another Lamborghini Kit Cars (car) swerving or braking suddenly for no reason, the driver may be impaired and you should avoid driving near it.
Alert the police to any suspicious driving – it could prevent a serious accident which going to happen.
Never drive when you are drunken - you may have only had 1 drink, but there are a number of factors (if you haven't eaten, your sex and weight, how long ago you drank) which affect your blood alcohol level. Don't risk it – take a taxi or designate a driver who won't drink.
Don't drive if you are sleep deprived or very tired. This affects concentration, reactions and perception. Ask someone else to drive or reschedule the journey.

Oil Paintings

One of the famous painting medium on use is oil paints famous for the look and originality that the oil paint brings in to the paintings. I have also heard about the new Delkim TXI Plus which comes in all the colours, red, green, blue, yellow, white and purple. I have called Delkim for a bit more information on these fishing bite alarms. I was given all the needed information about the bite alarms and the Delkim Pluses were also mentioned, a slightly cheaper alternative.
I am currently using Century NG 12ft 3.5tc fishing rods, so I really want a good set of bite alarms to go with these nice rods. I decided to go with the Delkim TXI Pluses. As it is going to be a nice weekend I’m off to my local fishery for 2 nights of Carp catching action. It will be the second time I’ve used my Trakker Armadillo Bivvy which I got at a very reasonable deal for http://www.sportsmanstackle.com/
My last catch from my local fishery was a mirror carp of 28.4lb and a common carp of 25.10lb, my new common PB-UK. He owns a fishery local, which is near to me; he stocks carp, tench & bream.
I went for the day so I didn’t need to take my Chub bivvy. Instead I took my Preston match brolly just in case it rained. The lake was of a fair size so I took my handy Fox Elite Barrow, as I struggle carrying all of my fishing tackle. I decided to leave the rods and reels at home and took my Fox Competition Match seat box and Shimano Technium 1250 Competition fishing pole, using size 14 elastic straight through to 5lb fishing line. The fishing bait I used was paste, pellet, corn and maggot. I took my new landing net and keep net which I bought from www.sportsmanstackle.com and also the weighing sling and scales to record my catch.
I had an excellent days fishing, I did catch some good size carp up to 14lb and some tench to 5lb mainly using maggots.

Terry Gefvism

sportsmanstacle

My son has decided to take up fishing with his dad. He has never shown an interest in fishing before so I was quite surprised when he wanted to go out with has dad to the local canal. He hasn’t got any of his own fishing tackle but he has decided he wants what his dad has got.
My son is 10 years old so I thought that buying new fishing tackle would make an excellent Christmas present. I’ve seen seat boxes, fishing rods, reels and all general tackle ideal for him at www.sportsmanstackle.com offering really good prices.
When they got back from fishing he had caught his first Perch of 1.2lb, a good size so I’m told. He was pleased with his catch. He was using ground bait and Maggots – Lovely.
So looks like someone is now sorted for Christmas, Fishing tackle. He will enjoy going to some of the local lakes with his dad. An extranet can be viewed as part of a company's intranet that is extended to users outside the company. It has also been described as a "state of mind" in which the Internet is perceived as a way to do business with other companies as well as to sell products to customers.
An extranet requires security and privacy. These can include firewalls server management, the issuance and use of digital certificates or similar means of user authentication, encryption of messages, and the use of virtual private networks (VPNs) that tunnel through the public network.
An extranet could be described as two or more intranets with network connectivity. Generally, and as with intranets, an extranet will be based on Internet Protocols. The underlying network technology does not really matter, for instance it may be that organizations use the Internet for carrying data but restrict access to resources from the general public via firewalls. A virtual private network could be set up over the Internet to achieve the same result.
An argument could be made that "Extranet" is just a buzzword for describing what institutions have been doing for decades, that is, interconnecting to each other to create private networks for sharing information.
During the late 1990s and early 2000s, several industries started to use the term "extranet" to describe central repositories of shared data made accessible via the web only to authorised members of particular work groups. For example, in the construction industry, project teams could login to and access a 'project extranet' to share drawings and documents, make comments, issue requests for information, etc. Specially secured extranets are used to provide virtual Data room services to companies in a number of sectors.
There are a variety of commercial Extranet applications. Some of which are for pure file management, others include broader collaboration tools and project management tools.
Some Extranet Product examples are:
Ace Project, Hot Project, Creative Manager.

Persian Gulf

The Persian Gulf in the Middle East region, is an extension of the Gulf of Oman located between Iran (Persia) and the Arabian Peninsula.
This inland sea of some 233,000 km² is connected to the Gulf of Oman in the east by the Strait of Hormuz, and its western end is marked by the major river delta of Arvand/Shatt al-Arab river, which carries the waters of the Euphrates and the Tigris. Its length is 989 kilometres separating mainly Iran from Saudi Arabia with the shortest divide of about 56 kilometres in the Strait of Hormuz. The waters are overall very shallow and do not exceed 60 metres in depth anywhere.
Countries with a coastline on the Persian Gulf, called the Persian Gulf States or the Gulf States, are (clockwise, from the north): Iran (Persia), United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar on a peninsula off the Saudi coast, Bahrain on an island, Kuwait and Iraq in the northwest. Various small islands lie within the Persian Gulf.
The Persian Gulf and its coastal areas are the largest single source of crude oil and related industries dominate the region.
GulfThe Persian Gulf was among the scenes of the Iraq-Iran War that lasted from 1980 to 1988, as with each side attacking the other's oil tankers. In 1991 the Persian Gulf again was the background for a Persian Gulf War as Iraq invaded Kuwait and was subsequently pushed back during what is now predominantly known as the Persian Gulf War, despite the fact that this conflict did not focus primarily on the Persian Gulf.
The natural environment of the Persian Gulf is very rich with good fishing grounds, extensive coral reefs and pearl oysters in abundance, but has become increasingly under pressure due to the heavy industrialisation and in particular the repeated major oil spillages associated with the various recent wars fought in the region.

Seaboard

The Seaboard Coast Line Railroad (AAR reporting mark SCL) was created July 1, 1967 as a result of the merger of the Seaboard Air Line Railroad with the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad (ACL). In 1982, The Seaboard Coast Line Railroad became Seaboard System Railroad as a result of a merger with the Louisville & Nashville Railroad (L&N). For some years prior to this, the SCL and L&N had been under the common ownership of a holding company, Seaboard Coast Line Industries (SCI), the company's railroad subsidiaries being collectively known as the Family Lines System which comprised of the L&N, SCL, Clinchfield and West Point Routes. After the 1980 merger of SCI with the Chessie System, the resulting CSX Corporation combined the Family Lines System units as the Seaboard System Railroad and later became CSX when the former Chessie units were merged into it in 1986.
Juice Train is the popular name for famous unit trains of Tropicana fresh orange juice operated by railroads in the United States. In 1970, beginning on Seaboard Coast Line railroad, a mile-long Tropicana Juice Train train began carrying one million gallons of juice with one weekly round-trip from Bradenton, Florida to Kearny, New Jersey, in the New York City area.
Today operated by SCL successor CSX Transportation, CSX Juice Trains have been the focus of efficiency studies and awards as examples of how modern rail transportation can compete successfully against trucking and other modes to carry perishable products.

Democracy

In contemporary usage, democracy is often understood to be the same as liberal democracy. This contemporary understanding of democracy to a large degree differs from how the term was originally defined and used by the ancient Greeks in the Athenian democracy political regime. The word democracy originates from the Greek δημοκρατíα from δημος meaning "the people", plus κρατειν meaning "to rule", and the suffix íα; the term therefore means "rule by the people." The term is also sometimes used as a measurement of how much influence a people has over their government, as in how much democracy exists. Anarchism and communism (as in the final stage of social development according to Marxist theory) are social systems that employ a form of direct democracy, and have no state independent of the people themselves.
Liberal democracy is sometimes the de facto form of government, while other forms are technically the case; for example, Canada has a monarchy, but is in fact ruled by a democratically elected Parliament. While democracy per se implies only a system of government defined and legitimized by elections, modern democracy can be characterized more fully by the following institutions:
A constitution which limits the powers and controls the formal operation of government, whether written, unwritten or a combination of the two.
.Election of public officials, conducted in a free and just manner
.The right to vote and to stand for election (also see Universal suffrage)
.Freedom of expression (speech, assembly, etc.)
.Freedom of the press and access to alternative information sources
.Freedom of association
.Equality before the law and due process under the rule of law
.Educated citizens informed of their rights and civic responsibilities.
Some summarize the definition of democracy as being "majority rule with minority rights."

Austria-Hungary

Austria-Hungary demanded that the Serbian government undertake the following:
To suppress any publication which incites to hatred and contempt of the Monarchy . . . In the most common procedure, the execution elephant was trained to place its enormous foot gently upon the condemned's head. At this point, those who had accused the condemned would be brought forward and allowed to look beneath the elephant's foot to confirm the identity of the prisoner. They could then either recant or confirm their accusations. Typically, the condemned would scream and beg for witnesses to recant, but few ever did, as it often would mean trading places with the condemned since perjury was commonly considered to be a capital offense. Once the confirmations were made, the mahout, or elephant driver, would give the command, and the elephant would press down with its immense weight, bursting the condemned's skull and then crushing the head completely flat.

men's underwear

Way down along the Eastern Seaboard

Way down along the Eastern Seaboard in the out-of-touch city of Soggy Bottom lives a square yellow Texas sponge named SpongeBush Whistlepants.
SpongeBush lives in a fantasyworld with his pet snail, Pal, loves his job as a frontman at the Kapitol Klub, and has a knack for getting into all kinds of trouble without really trying.
When he's not getting on the nerves of his cranky NATO allies, SpongeBush can usually be found smack in the middle of all sorts of strange situations with his best buddy, the simple yet lovable starfish, Dickie, or his thrill-seeking surfer-dude squirrel pal, Rummy Cheeks.
In Soggy Bottom, far right is right but your rights are wrong, foul water is fair, clean air is banned, blowing smoke is art, and the tastiest treat is Lobbyster with Lotts'a lettuce and green sauce.
So come all you fat cats, hurry on down to Soggy Bottom and rake it all in with SpongeBush Whistlepants! I come back to this site every couple of hours, see the numbers changing, read a few entries, and reassure myself that I'm not all by myself.
For me, this election is beyond personal. George Bush made a decision on August 9, 2001, that stopped medical research dead in its tracks. Up until that day, momentum towards finding out how to cure spinal cord injury (along with a host of other neurological problems) had been building. What George did was limit (to the point of nothingness) federal funding on research into stem cells, on the grounds that somebody somewhere might someday clone a human.
The result was an almost total collapse of that kind of medical research in this country. The result was hundreds of thousands of paralyzed Americans told to wait. Again.
Try this, my friends. Sit down in a chair. Now imagine yourself told to stay there until Christmas of 2006. Imagine doing just that, and then being told, well, no, not yet. Sit there until 2011.
For paralyzed people, a few years is not nothing--it's their life slipping past while George goes running every morning, while he strides up to the microphones to tell how compassionate he is.
It's possible, the scientists now say, to cure paralysis. The obstacles aren't medical, they're political. Tell that to my kids, while they watch their dad struggle to get himself dressed in the morning, or while they look on as other kids' fathers chase them around the yard.
It's possible that my husband would right now be signing up for treatments that would make him well, if not for George's decision on August 9, 2001. That day was also our 15th wedding anniversary, so I'm not likely to forget it.
Think of us when you're reading articles like the one Joe quoted at the beginning of this thread. There's already blood all over the floor . . . I just thank God somebody's going to clean it up.
