Way down along the Eastern Seaboard in the out-of-touch city of Soggy Bottom lives a square yellow Texas sponge named SpongeBush Whistlepants.
SpongeBush lives in a fantasyworld with his pet snail, Pal, loves his job as a frontman at the Kapitol Klub, and has a knack for getting into all kinds of trouble without really trying.
When he's not getting on the nerves of his cranky NATO allies, SpongeBush can usually be found smack in the middle of all sorts of strange situations with his best buddy, the simple yet lovable starfish, Dickie, or his thrill-seeking surfer-dude squirrel pal, Rummy Cheeks.
In Soggy Bottom, far right is right but your rights are wrong, foul water is fair, clean air is banned, blowing smoke is art, and the tastiest treat is Lobbyster with Lotts'a lettuce and green sauce.
So come all you fat cats, hurry on down to Soggy Bottom and rake it all in with SpongeBush Whistlepants! (Don't DeLay. Offer expires January 2005) blue cross california san fransisco sightseeing cheap spanish holiday florida discounted dental care

Hey! Check out today's NY Times! Maureen Dowd has swiped your idea of SpongeBush! I'd be sure to write her with evidence that you thought of it first. Not that it will do you any good, but it might be nice to have some bragging rights over the NY Times.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of Spongebush Squarepants. Whistlepants IS funnier, by the way, but I'm not sure people would get the connection to the Whistleass quote.
Given the focused attempt to make Bush out to be "his own man" and not a pawn of Rove, Cheney, Rumsfeld and the neocons, Dowd's essay is a welcome sign. Note the recent Newsweek story were they constantly were pushing the soundbite/talking points that "He reads! He decides! He's an engaged detail man!" The writer acknowledged that these comments were from his aids and defensely says, "How else could I know how he acts?" with out seeing just how easily he was played.
You are obviously onto something with this post. Come back to blogging!
